- Debt bondage
- Exploitation through coercion, threats, or deception

We will not tolerate modern slavery or human trafficking in any part of our business or supply chain. We are committed to:

- Only working with suppliers and partners who share our values and demonstrate a commitment to ethical labour practices.

- Providing training and guidance to staff to help them recognise and prevent modern slavery.
3. Responsibilities
Everyone at Newlook Upholstery has a role to play in preventing modern slavery. Specific responsibilities include:
- Managing Director: Overall responsibility for ensuring this policy is implemented and effective.
- Managers and Supervisors: Monitoring day-to-day operations to ensure compliance with ethical standards.
- Employees: Reporting any concerns or suspicions of modern slavery or unethical practices.
We also expect our suppliers and contractors to adopt the same standards and actively work to prevent exploitation within their own businesses.
4. Supplier Standards and Due Diligence
Newlook Upholstery maintains a rigorous approach to selecting and managing suppliers. This includes:
- Assessing suppliers for compliance with ethical and legal labour standards.
- Requiring suppliers to confirm they do not use forced, bonded, or child labour.
- Including anti-slavery and human trafficking clauses in our supplier agreements.

5. Recruitment Practices
Our recruitment processes are designed to protect individuals from exploitation. We ensure that:

- Employees are not charged fees for securing employment.
- All workers are provided with clear contracts outlining their rights and responsibilities.
- Workers are free to leave employment at any time, in line with their contract terms.
6. Training and Awareness
We provide training to relevant staff members to help them identify signs of modern slavery and understand how to report concerns. Training covers:
- Recognising indicators of exploitation or coercion.
- Understanding reporting channels and responsibilities.
- Ensuring compliance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
7. Reporting Concerns
If any employee, contractor, or supplier suspects modern slavery or unethical practices, they are encouraged to report it immediately. Concerns should be raised with:

Reports will be treated seriously and investigated promptly. We guarantee that individuals raising concerns in good faith will not face retaliation or adverse treatment.
